If you are a business with several people coming in and out every day, you should apply for a FourSquare account. Not only does FourSquare allow visitors to sign into your business, it also awards people for coming in—bringing them back to your business site.
FourSquare has been around now for a while, and co-founder/CEO, Denis Crowley, explains what the forecast for the company looks like. Serving local businesses seems to be the shift, although bigger brands tend to gain a lot of attention with FourSquare. Crowley explains, “I think the business model is being able to create and sell tools to local merchants,” something that was never available to smaller, local businesses only a few years ago.
The only current issue with having FourSquare as an application on cellular devices is the amount of battery life it takes from phones. If you have an iPod touch, iPhone, or an Android phone, the application should be supported by the software and interface of the device. In the future, FourSquare hopes to solve the issue of taking battery life due to graphics and backlighting for the application.
Soon enough, FourSquare will be able to allow businesses to see who their loyal customers are, and what people are saying about their company. With the service, it is easier to spread the word of your business through the program (which is also free). Place the icon one your website once you sign up and get customers into the doors of your company.
