Quite busy in the Evolve Systems office today, working on multiple projects, both old and new. Sadly, there hasn’t been much time to gather unique links this week, so this will be a shorter than usual blog post. We hope you understand!
The Wall Street Journal Online has an interesting article on how many small businesses are not using social media’s such as Facebook to find friends. The article is set up as a cross comparison between two different companies, one that is struggling to find Fans and Friends, and another with over 10,000 of them. The differences between their approaches is quite interesting. We’d suggest using this article as a conversation starter around the water cooler!
ProBlogger has a video blog (vlog) up about some of the tips and tricks and things he’s learned in the 8 years he’s been blogging. We’d highly suggest creating a video blog on your website, as it can help with SEO and increase hits to your website. Pick a topic you are passionate about, find a camera and a nice clean shirt, and just starting talking to others! Let your positive energy about your field transfer into friends and followers online!
Slightly more on the fun side of life, Outspoken Media has started what they call the “Twitter Bowl”, a fascinating conversation between NFL teams leading up to the (un)official Twitter Bowl! It’s quite humorous, and maybe even a little startling to football fans (Vikings over the Packers? Not likely!), and definitely worth a look at.
And finally, two of us in the office have gotten new Android phones, and while we are spending plenty of time being serious and looking at the various mobile payment processing applications available on the platform, we’ve also developed what can only be known as “Angry Bird Fever”. Check it out if you’ve got some time to spare!
