There was a great article on the Small Business Trends site last week regarding third party reviews on Google’s ‘Places’ feature. You can read the article in it’s entirety here.
Previously, if your business had reviews on sites like Yelp or Trip Advisor, those reviews would show up on your Google Places page when someone searches for your business, in addition to reviews that were posted directly to Google.
Now, the only reviews that will show up are those posted directly to Google. This could have a dramatic impact on the overall rating your business has- especially of the bulk of your reviews were from third-party sites. If your business benefits from online reviews, you will definitely want to include Google in your list of sites to keep an eye on!
