Obviously the most important thing that happened this week to many people was Blockbuster announcing it’s bankrup…just kidding, it was Facebook going down for a few hour yesterday! As the Wired article shows, much gallows humor developed around the downtime (most of which was created on Twitter, showing just how huge and busy that service is):
@StuffinMyBrain: I hate to be the one to tell you but all your Farmville animals died and your crops burned. Have a nice day.
@opb: BREAKING NEWS: Facebook is down. Worker productivity rises. U.S. climbs out of recession.
@sacca When Facebook goes down, everyone comes to Twitter to talk about it. When Twitter goes down, the world falls mute.
@loubrutus DNS FAILURE: Facebook is down which means 9 months from today, many children will born.

Techcrunch has an article up about a new program called Clue, a website analysis tool similar to usability services. “The process is such: Visit Clue, submit your URL and make a “memory test” which gives you a unique URL that you can then share with friends,a target market or control group in order to get feedback about how people initially perceive your site, giving them 5 1/2 seconds to declare their initial perceptions of your website UI via submission of the top five things they remember.” The program largely appears to be participant driven, so be sure to get your clients or peers to try it out!
