Every May the Platinum Group hosts the Meaningful Capitalism Awards (MCA) reception. The MCA is an annual celebration of businesses that seek to prove profitability and purpose can go hand in hand.
The awards, based on the vision by founder Dean Bachelor, recognize companies that build strong financial foundations while creating meaningful impact for their communities. Dean championed a model of capitalism that balances profit with people and to never prioritize one at the expense of the other. While Dean passed in 2021, his legacy continues through MCA, as it annually honors organizations that live out this principle in tangible ways.
The reception for the 4th annual Meaningful Capitalism Awards will take place on May 5, 2026, from 5:30–8:30 PM at the Metropolitan Ballroom in Golden Valley. Each year, 5–10 finalists are selected, with 3–5 honorees revealed live at the reception. These are companies that exemplify sustainable growth, stakeholder balance, and a deep commitment to community.

Business Beyond the Bottom Line
Meaningful Capitalism recognizes that business is about more than financial results. It’s about building a business strong enough to give back. The companies honored by the MCA demonstrate that profitability and social responsibility don’t have to be odds, rather they are mutually reinforcing. These organizations prioritize sustainable growth, invest in their people, and direct a portion of their profits toward initiatives that uphold human dignity.
2026 Initiatives and the Wallin Partnership
This year, the MCA is launching a new dual-purpose initiative. The organization is raising immediate funds for the 2026 beneficiary, Wallin Education Partners. Wallin helps students and would-be students overcome financial barriers so they can graduate from college with a solid foundation for their futures. In doing so, Wallin’s efforts are in sync with MCA’s values in that they create pathways to success through dedicated community support and individual opportunity.
The MCA serves as an embodiment of how thoughtful business philosophies can help elevate entire communities. When an honest mission drives the margins, the result is a more resilient, inclusive community that benefits everyone.
Evolve Systems: From Honoree to Sponsor
This is now the fourth year of the MCA recognizing businesses. Evolve Systems was the initial company honored with the award in its first year, and being the inaugural recipient created a meaningful distinction for our organization, affirming the values we had been living out daily.
Marnie Ochs-Raleigh, our CEO and newly appointed MCA Event Committee Chair, reflects: “The first year we won and I was completely overwhelmed. To receive that award and that acknowledgement really meant a lot.”
For her, and for all of us, the recognition was especially meaningful because it honored the heart behind the company and the values that shape how we do business.
Now, Evolve supports the event as a sponsor, advancing its mission and helping communicate why Meaningful Capitalism matters to the broader community. Alongside our sister company, Evolve Payment, we are proud to support initiatives that align strong business performance with meaningful community impact.
This award goes beyond individual efforts and is a manifestation of team culture and initiatives. Like others honored by the MCA, Evolve donates time, talent, and creative resources to nonprofit partners, reinforcing that business can be a vehicle for good.
